Draft Profile: Bio
Jared Wilson from West Forsyth High School was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN and handed a 3-star grade by 247 Sports. Following high school, Wilson opted to join Georgia.

In 2021 as a freshman Wilson saw action in just one game and played a total of 6 snaps for the Bulldogs. He allowed no QB hurries, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing sparingly.

As a sophomore in 2022 he played in 7 games and a total of 59 snaps. He conceded just one QB hurry, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing most of his snaps at right guard.

In 2023 as a junior Wilson saw action in 9 games and totaled 131 snaps. He gave up just one QB hurry, no QB hits, and one sack while playing most of his snaps at center.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Awareness is above-average for his limited experience. Sells trap block and can turn to seal. Fluid getting to and adjust at the second level.
  • Hand placement is excellent, and Wilson shows a good understanding of angles when climbing upfield
  • Solid positional run blocker who flashes the nasty demeanor and killer instinct scouts covet.
  • Mauler in the run game, playing with a nasty disposition and showing excellent snap and punch quickness.
  • Effective grappling in the phone booth, with the upper-body strength and strong hands to outbattle defenders. Wilson also shows a good understanding of angles when moving out to the second level
  • As a pass protector, he plays with good balance and holds up against the bull rush. Wilson has strong hands and does a nice job gripping and latching on once he has his hands on the pass rusher.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Has a bad habit of panicking on reach blocks, lunging, and grabbing rather than trusting his athleticism to get him in position, which could lead to frequent flags for holding.
  • Good upper-body strength but must improve his core strength. Better suited to a zone-blocking system because of his athleticism.
  • Can struggle to stay engaged, especially on the second level. His hand placement can be sloppy, costing him power.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
