Princely Umanmielen, an edge rusher from Manor, Texas, played his high school football at Manor High School. During his high school career, he amassed 135 tackles, 48 tackles for loss, and 15.5 sacks, leading his team to the Texas University Interscholastic League (UIL) Class 5A, Division 1 state championship quarterfinals in 2019. As a four-star recruit, he chose to play for the Florida Gators over other programs like Texas, Baylor, and Auburn.
At Florida, Umanmielen steadily improved, with his most productive season in 2023. That year, he started all 12 games, recording career-highs in tackles for loss (11.5), sacks (7.0), and quarterback hurries (17), and matching his career-high in tackles (39). He earned several accolades, including Coaches All-SEC Second Team, AP All-SEC Second Team, and USA Today Sports Network All-SEC Team honors. He also excelled academically, making the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll three times from 2021 to 2023.
Over his collegiate career, Umanmielen has accumulated impressive stats: 91 total tackles, 14.5 sacks, 27.5 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles. In 2022, he played in all 13 games, starting 11, and recorded 9.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
