Draft Profile: Bio

Tetairoa McMillan, originally from Servite High School in California, was a highly touted recruit, earning a five-star rating and becoming the highest-rated signee in Arizona's history. A multi-sport athlete in high school, McMillan excelled in football, basketball, and volleyball. He initially committed to Oregon but switched to Arizona, where he quickly lived up to his billing.

During his freshman season in 2022, McMillan recorded 39 receptions for 702 yards and 8 touchdowns, setting a new record for receiving yards by a true freshman at Arizona. His sophomore season was even more impressive, with 90 catches for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning him several All-American and All-Pac-12 honors. McMillan's elite size at 6’5” combined with his flexibility and burst made him a dominant force on the field.

Over his college career, McMillan has totaled 129 receptions on 211 targets for 2,098 yards and 18 touchdowns. Known for his large catch radius and excellent hands, he finished with the lowest drop rate among Power Five receivers with at least 100 targets in 2023. His performance has solidified his position as a top prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft, with expectations of being a first-round pick.

Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Massive target at 6'5" with a large catch radius, making him an excellent option in contested situations.
  • Exceptional hands, recording the lowest drop rate among Power Five receivers with at least 100 targets in 2023 (2.1%).
  • Fluid athlete with excellent short-area quickness and straight-line speed to threaten downfield.
  • Precise route runner with good stop-start ability and lateral agility to create separation.
  • Strong and violent hands to fight off press coverage at the line of scrimmage.
  • Impressive ability to adjust to balls thrown behind him and dig out low throws.
  • Effective YAC (yards after catch) ability, showcasing explosive plays after the catch.
  • High football IQ and awareness, often finding gaps in zone coverage to sit down and make catches.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Needs to improve his comfort and technique when transitioning to a runner after the catch.
  • Occasionally relies too much on his size and length instead of creating separation with route running.
  • Must develop a better feel for sitting down against zone coverage to maximize his effectiveness.
  • Can be overly comfortable in traffic, sometimes not making enough effort to create separation.
  • Work on consistency in effort and technique when catching in stride and transitioning upfield.
Scouting Report: Summary

Tetairoa McMillan brings an impressive blend of size, hands, and athleticism to the field, making him a top-tier receiving prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft. His ability to win contested catches and create separation with precise route running are standout attributes that will translate well to the next level.

McMillan's collegiate production and accolades highlight his potential to be a primary target in an NFL offense. His performance against top competition has shown that he can be a reliable and explosive playmaker, capable of changing the dynamics of a game.

While there are areas for improvement, such as his transition after the catch and consistency in effort, McMillan's overall skill set and football intelligence position him as a high-upside prospect with the potential to become a dominating player at the pro level.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
